Smart Energy contest for AXPO Italy
AXPO Italia, in collaboration with Fab Connections, challenges makers all over the world to change the way we generate and consume this energy, and to help make the world aware of how and where we are spending it. We will be awarding the best ideas with over 13000 euro’s in machines, ideas that will focus on monitoring or management of energy in households or small businesses.
Fab Connections runs the contest in all it's aspects. Interested in finding solutions and new ideas in an innovative way? Don't hesitate to ask us about what we can do for you.Visit website
A mind-blowing experience on learning by making
The European Maker Camp was a project first organized during Summer 2014 across 6 countries. A race against the clock to learn and fabricate in a diverse program based on technology, processes and tools in digital fabrication while travelling across Europe in an weekly based journey.
We are currently working on a new rebranded edition, which from 2015 will be hosted in many more locations under a dynamic format.Visit website
The .com branch of the Fab Lab Network
Fab Economy is about creating a new economy for everybody, where local fulfillment and customization take the place of mass production and global distribution. Fab Labs, along companies and organizations can all work together towards reaching this goal.
The Fab Economy portal was launched during Fab 10, and will host all the resources and initiatives for the sustainability of whole Fab Lab Network during the next months.Visit website
Designing Globally, fabricating locally
We are working on the creation of a 'Digitally Made in a Fab Lab' brand, allowing people to recognize products designed globally, and produced locally on demand using digital tools available in Fabrication Laboratories.
The Fab Lab Made stamp will show the product was produced using sustainable production techniques and local materials, avoiding the current scheme of mass production of waste and saving tons of CO2 emissions. We are still working on this, if you want to know more, or you'd like to help, get in contact!
3D printing to give the World a "Helping Hand.
What originally started out as a couple of guys who created something to help one child in need…has grown into a World wide movement of tinkerers, engineers, 3D print enthusiasts, occupational therapists, university professors, designers, parents, families, artists, students, teachers and people who just want to make a difference.
They are coming together to create, innovate, re-design and give a “Helping hand” to those that need it – whether it is helping to print parts for them, creating a completed device for them or simply helping to guide them as they build one themselves.Visit website
Visit social organisations around the world
Orgs offer unique access to the real lives of local communities. At visit.org we curate visits offered by local nonprofits, cooperatives, and community-based initiatives in both developed and developing countries.
Visits featured on visit.org are initiated, designed, and led by orgs and their communities. These are short, immersive social and cultural experiences that include a meaningful and respectful interaction with members of local community through workshops, tours, brainstorming sessions, or other experiential activities.
